Advanced settings

Settings → Advanced is for power-user maintenance: export a workspace backup, control logging, run diagnostic probes, and — if needed — reset the application. Most people only open this tab when troubleshooting or preparing for a major update.

What you see

Four sections:

  1. Workspace backup
  2. Logging
  3. Diagnostics
  4. Danger Zone

Workspace backup

Export notes, snippets, and optional dictation history to a JSON file before major app updates. Attachment files are not embedded in the export — copy them separately if you need them.

Include dictation historyWhen on, history is included (can make the file large)
Export workspace JSONSaves the backup file

Logging

SettingWhat it does

Pre-release logging

In development and pre-release builds, debug logging is enabled automatically. You can still download logs; the enable/level controls may be locked.

Diagnostics

Diagnostic tools help check hotkeys, hooks, and config health. Logging is raised to Debug only while a test runs. Save diagnostic report attaches structured rows from runs since your last save, plus a log excerpt.

Danger Zone

ActionWhat it does
Clear All DataResetDeletes history, notes, snippets, and settings after confirmation

Confirm dialog: Reset the entire application? This will delete all settings, history, and data.

Destructive

Reset cannot be undone from inside the app. Export a workspace backup first if you need your notes and snippets. After reset you go through setup again. See Reset and setup.
