About settings
Settings → About shows your installed version, lets you choose Stable or Beta updates, install updates, and open documentation, legal, and team licensing links. It is also reachable from the system tray via Check for Updates (which checks without necessarily opening this tab first).

Version & updates
| Setting / action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Current version | The version of Kalam installed on this device |
| Check now | Checks for an update on your selected channel |
| Channel | Stable (recommended for most users) or Beta (pre-release builds) |
When an update is available:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Update now | Download, install, and restart immediately |
| Update on next start | Download and install in the background; apply the next time you quit and open Kalam |
Status messages include Up to date, Update available, or an error if the check fails.
Beta builds can receive newer features earlier. Pre-release builds also send diagnostic telemetry that cannot be turned off — see Privacy settings and Updating and beta.

License
Expand License to read the Kalam End User License Agreement (EULA) in the app. Kalam is proprietary software: free to use on the Free plan, and licensed per subscription on Pro and Max.
