Uninstall

Remove the app. Settings and downloaded speech models stay unless you ask to delete them. Words already inserted into other programs stay there.

Windows

  1. Open Settings → Apps (or run uninstall.exe from the Kalam install folder).
  2. Uninstall Kalam (NSIS uninstaller).
  3. Optional: check Also remove my Kalam settings, history, and downloaded speech models. That deletes %USERPROFILE%\.kalam and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Kalam. It does not delete documents in Word, email, or other programs.

If you skipped the checkbox, you can delete those two folders yourself.

macOS

On a release build (not a local debug app):

  1. Open Settings → About.
  2. Under Remove Kalam, click Remove Kalam.
  3. Optional: check Also remove settings, history, and downloaded speech models.
  4. Confirm. Kalam quits, leaves login items, and moves Kalam.app to the Trash. You can put it back from there.

Remove Kalam does not clear Microphone, Accessibility, or Input Monitoring grants in System Settings. A later install of the same signed build can still match those rows.

Dragging Kalam out of Applications leaves data (~/.kalam, Application Support) and the login item behind. Use Remove Kalam when you want a clean quit and Trash step.

Linux (.deb)

  1. Find the package name — do not guess:

    dpkg -l | grep -i kalam
  2. Purge that name:

    sudo apt purge <package-from-dpkg>

apt purge (not plain remove) runs the post-remove script. For the account that ran sudo (SUDO_USER), it deletes ~/.kalam and ~/.local/share/kalam. Panel copies under ~/.local/share/gnome-shell (and similar) from an AppImage are not that purge path.

Linux (AppImage)

  1. Delete the AppImage file.
  2. Delete data yourself if you want it gone: ~/.kalam and ~/.local/share/kalam.

There is no NSIS-style checkbox. Quit Kalam first.
