Kalam has four plan states. Your plan controls which speech-to-text and AI features are available.

Everything in Free, plus context awareness, workspace sync, and per-mode AI polish with your own provider keys.
Max
Kalam Max is coming soon. When it ships, Kalam will run speech-to-text and AI on hosted infrastructure with no API keys to manage. It is not currently for sale — there is no price or checkout. Pro remains the paid plan you can subscribe to today. Leftover Max licenses still unlock Pro-class features (sync, polish).
All plans can run fully on-device speech-to-text. When Max ships it will route audio through Kalam's hosted service; Pro and Free with BYOK route audio to your chosen provider. See Speech-to-text modes for exactly what leaves your device in each mode.
